At Mattress Warehouse, it is our mission to keep used mattresses out of your home and out of landfills.

At Mattress Warehouse, our Green & Clean Initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability — from the brands we carry to how we responsibly dispose of old mattresses. We're focused on making a cleaner, greener future for our planet, one mattress at a time.

Many people view mattresses as difficult to dispose of, and unfortunately, millions still end up in landfills each year. According to the Mattress Recycling Council, more than 50,000 mattresses are discarded daily in the U.S. alone. While some companies offer certified used mattresses as a solution, we believe our customers and their families deserve better. That’s why Mattress Warehouse remains committed to offering only new, high-quality, factory-sealed products — keeping used mattresses out of landfills for good.

So, what do we do with old mattresses?
We partner with trusted recycling organizations such as Resource Recycling and Recycling Works to deconstruct and recycle materials from old mattresses. Recyclable components like metal from box springs and innerspring coils, along with cotton and foam padding, are stripped, sanitized, and sent to upcycling companies. These materials are then repurposed into useful products like carpet underlay, insulation, and even pet beds.

Growing a Greener Planet with Ecodrive
Our partnership with Ecodrive continues to thrive beyond our initial 2022 Earth Day campaign, where we set out to plant 10,000 mangrove trees in Madagascar. Thanks to ongoing support, we’ve helped expand reforestation efforts that not only absorb carbon — mangroves capture carbon 2–4 times more effectively than mature tropical forests — but also protect biodiversity and coastal ecosystems.

Energy Efficiency in Our Operations
Sustainability is also part of how we operate every day. We’ve upgraded lighting in our corporate offices and distribution centers with energy-saving LED technology that uses three brightness settings and significantly reduces energy consumption. By committing to turning lights off when not in use, Mattress Warehouse saves over 60,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity annually — a small change making a big difference.

Our mission is clear: deliver high-quality sleep solutions while being mindful stewards of the environment. Because at Mattress Warehouse, a good night’s sleep shouldn’t come at the planet’s expense.
